The Night Parrots
From September 2023, acclaimed Melbourne songwriters and musicians Marcel Borrack and Dan Warner decided to combine their talents into a single entity, from here on known simply as ‘The Night Parrots’ – a vehicle for an ongoing songwriting project for both artists to release material under a single banner.
In a nutshell, the band formerly known as ‘Dan Warner & The Night Parrots’ would now release material simply as ‘The Night Parrots’, with all songs to be co-written by Dan and Marcel and lead-singing duties divided between the two musicians.
The melding of these two celebrated artists into a single songwriting team has been a long time coming. Marcel has produced, with Tim Harvey, the last three of Dan’s Night Parrots albums, with more and more songs becoming co-writes with each release.
It is fitting that the final single release for ‘Dan Warner & The Night Parrots’ – 2023’s acclaimed ‘St Patrick and St Michael’ was, in fact, a Marcel Borrack/Dan Warner co-write. dere is the video: https://youtu.be/hJMGf3GIV78
Marcel and Dan will also continue on with their separate musical projects – The Telecaster Diaries; The MiniBikes; The Warner Brothers; Dan & Al. However, all releases from here under The Night Parrots banner will be a joint venture.
In the future, Borrack/Warner will become a much-recognised song credit.
