Warner Corner – Party

The theme this week was ‘Party’- the last show for 2018.

the "Garden Party"

Thought we’d play the Ricky Nelson song Garden Party, about his performance at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival concert at Madison Square Garden in 1971. He endured a cool reception.

Much like we do in Warner Corner each week from our host, JvG.

Happy New Year.

Warner Corner – Shaking

Dan Warner

The theme this week was ‘Shaking’.

Just Ed and I were in and, just to shake things up, we thought we’d try something a bit more modern for the segment. I know Ryan Adams has had a crack at Taylor Swift’s 1989 – but, sheesh, Shake it Off works well in this time signature.

Thanks again to Ed Bates for his brilliant playing…

Warner Corner – Waters

The theme this week was ‘Waters’ (Barb Waters was the special guest on the show). Yes, Jon was adamant that the word in the title of the song had to be ‘waters’, not ‘water’. Adamant.

I’d known Emmylou’s version of this song – but, I think, George Jones also has a pretty famous version, also.

Sad stuff.

Warner Corner – Kids

The theme this week was ‘Kids’.

Dave and Nathan are such great singers, I thought we might be able to do an acoustic version of The Who’s ‘The Kids Are Alright’.

A lot of fun to play…

Thanks to my brother for allowing me to photograph his goat.
