Warner Corner – Pictures

The theme today was ‘Pictures’.

I played one of my own songs a few weeks back so, this Sunday, I thought I might roll the dice again.

A stripped-back Warner Corner band played a version of ‘A Likeness’ – the leading track from my first solo album, ‘A Likeness of You’.

The lyrics refer to the objects secreted away in someone’s bag – hopefully the simple list tells some sort of story…

Thanks to Nath, Ed and Thatch

Bass and BVs – Nathan Farrelly; Lap Steel – Ed Bates; Guitar and Vocal – Dan Warner

Warner Corner – Said

The theme today was ‘Said, Say, Saying’.

I realised I’d written one of these myself many years ago – in the late 80s, early 90s – one of my first songs for The Warner Brothers.

Very chuffed at RRR this day that Dave Evans had learned the Marcel Borrack arrangement from my Night Parrots album.

Thanks Dave! And thanks to my webmaster Thatch for the brilliant EQ.

Bass – Nathan Farrelly; Accordion and BVs- Dave Evans; Lap Steel – Ed Bates; Guitar and Vocal – Dan Warner

Warner Corner – Global

This week, Ella Hooper was the surprise guest on the Warner Corner segment.

The theme was ‘Global’- we had a big singalong on the cracking Tears for Fears anti-war hit from the 80s ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’.

Much fun!

Thanks heaps to Ella – hope to see you back in the Corner soon!

Warner Corner – Teaching

The first Warner Corner segment for 2019 – and the whole band was in…

The theme was ‘teaching’ – I went for the past tense and this great song from Ryan Adams’ Easy Tiger album.

The band just finding its feet in the new year…
