Fall Into The Sky

Dan Warner – Fall Into The Sky

Review in the Sydney Morning Herald December 4, 2014

Dan Warner
FALL INTO THE SKY
★★★★

Dan Warner has been around. Remember Overnight Jones? Doesn’t matter. Google Marcel Borrack, Tim Harvey and Al Barden, too. They’re guys who know where to embellish a good story and when to leave it alone.

They drop by to record in houses and barns when Dan has a new song and they smile and nod, most likely, when it’s as skilfully loaded and lovely as Dyed Blonde Hair or Baggage Claim.

Fall Into the Sky is a couple of years worth of keepers; songs of experience played with extraordinary restraint, based on cars, girls, funerals, Christmas and birds in houses that manage to mean so much more.

“I built a house from this box of wood,” is the quiet boast of the last track.

That’s craftsmanship, that is.
